"In the beginning.." is already a well known introduction so I am choosing to go with "A beginning..."
As 2016 has made its entrance, it is very appropriate that a person take a moment to reflect on what has been the last year and look ahead to the incoming year.
2015 was a year brimming over with changes for my life. Newly retired, I continue to struggle to discover what retirement looks like for me. Newly planted in a North Carolina, which is so vastly different from Minnesota, I continue to remind myself to breathe and take time as I embrace new neighbors, new roads, new stores, new address, and...maybe...a new calling?
What does that look like?
I don't know. Not yet.
So I have decided to blog, to write, to pray, to reflect, to put it out there....
And as 2016 unfolds, week by week,
day by day,
hour by hour,
I pray that I will be open to the leading of the Spirit and be given ways
to serve God,
to love Jesus,
to care for my neighbor,
to be present to my family
and to be filled with the promised peace and the promised abundant joy.
Jesus said "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." (John 14:27)
Here I go....2016, it's a beginning...a new beginning....
